I have a Seagate ST125 running on an AT. I was told by the store
that sold it to me that it was drive type 2, but Disk Manager sold by
Ontrack Computer Systems reports that a ST125 is type 6. Which is
right? Also my setup program says 615 cyls, 4 heads, and lz = 615
for both types. What does lz mean? What is Precomp? For type 2
the setup program says Precomp 300 and for type it says Precomp no.
Finally, the drive was formated as a type 2 drive. If it is a type 6
drive should I reformat it when I change the type setting in my CMOS?
How does Precomp and lz affect the drive?
