I recently found in a magazine that I have never seen published before
an ad for a Graphics and Font&Menus package for the MSDOS world. It
supports all standard graphics adapters including some of the SuperEga
and SuperVga systems. On top of it they sell the sources with it. Here

Their bulletin board system has some demos to download. The package is
rather inexpensive ($180.00), yet it is still in beta release. There
bugs which they promise to update soon.
The interface looks very 'vanilla'. It probably comes closest to the
GEM package. With all the 'standards' floating arround I think this is
nice fresh approach to the desktop interface in a way where you don't
have to bother with a customer service solving your problems.
