CONFERENCE OUTLINE

     This conference brings together many of the
leading  practitioners
in  the field of Software Engineering Environments.
The full conference programme (given above) has eighteen
presentations from our invited speakers and
from authors of accepted papers. These will be further  sup-
plemented  by  end-of-the-day panel discussions, in addition to
on-site  demonstrations of current systems to
provide some practical assessment of the presented work.

	The invited speakers are :
           Ian Campbell (Syseca Logiciel), France
      Roy H. Campbell (University of Illinois), U.S.A
     Vic Stenning (Imperial Software Technology), U.K.
              Leon Stucki (Futuretech), U.S.A

CONFERENCE FEE

     The fee is   165 sterling.

TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATION

     The ALVEY Directorate have approved the use of Alvey monies
for travel to attend this conference.
	Lancaster University is  readily  accessible  by  road,
rail  and by air. The University is situated close to the M6
motorway between Preston and Lancaster,  and  lies  2  miles
north of Junction 33. The city of Lancaster is served by the
main west coast London to Glasgow rail  line,  with  regular
services. Two airports (Manchester and Liverpool) are within
easy reach of the University and have rail and coach connec-
tions to the City.

     Delegates will be expected to  make  their  own  travel
arrangements.   A  conference  handbook  will be sent out to
each delegate, together  with  a  conference  programme,  in
which travel choices are outlined in some detail.

     The conference is fully residential. Accommodation  and
all  meals  will  be provided on the University campus; this
cost is included in the conference fee. The accommodation is
reserved  for  delegates  from  the afternoon of Monday, 1st
April through to the morning of Friday, 4th April.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

     It has been provisionally agreed  that  the  conference
proceedings  will  be published by Peter Perigrinus Ltd as a
book entitled "Software Engineering Environments"  which  is
to be edited by Ian Sommerville, University of Strathclyde.
