I just got my hands on one of those handheld digitizing scanners (Genius Geniscan, to be precise, but I suspect that the same scanner is being sold under many different brand names since I see so many different brand names that look alike). Anyhow, I find that the software that comes with it leaves a lot to be desired, and I'd like to write some of my own. Unfortunately, the device included no documentation whatsoever on how to talk to it directly, and the only manufacturer information included mentioned an address in Taiwan. Before I write a letter halfway across the world, I was wondering: does anyone out there know or have pointers to low-level device information on scanners like this?
