Is there any way to load the drivers in CONFIG.SYS in extend memory? I understand that DOS 4.0 can do that, but is it possible under DOS 3.3? I have seen a PS/2 with 2 Mb of memory were about 350Kb is free to the user! (NFS drivers and drivers for the IBM optical disk (3363) were loaded). ############################################################################### # Kjartan R. One way to do this is with the use of a program like 386-to-the-MAX. It is one of only a handful of programs that will manage TSRs and device drivers in high memory. I use it, and recommend it if you have RAMHog programs like Systat, SPSS/PC+ or other picky programs that refuse to operate when your low memory drops below a certain level. You cannot load the DOS drivers into high memory at all (Command.com) but you can sure get a lot of free space in low memory. It also allows you to redefine the remaining memory into either extended or expanded or a virtual disk. Highly recommended if these are your requirements. You can inquire from Qualitas, Inc., 8314 Thoreau Dr., Bethesda, MD 20817-3164. 310/469-8848.
