I have a friend who would like to get ~ $200 for the following: Hard/Floppy Controller w/ 1 ser. and 1 par. port 40MB 28ms drive 1.2 MB Floppy drive This came out of a 16MHz Compaq '386 machine. It really should stay together as a package, since the cableing scheme between the controller and Hard drive is "unique" to Compaq (single cable, not sep. data/control cables). This all has been working flawlessly for him for ~ 1 year. He wanted a larger hard drive, and didn't want to pay Compaq's prices, so he bought himself a new controller/hard drive and floppy. I have tried this in an AT clone - its AMI BIOS did not seem to recognize the controller card. Rumor has it that this should work ok in a clone with a Phoenix BIOS. Operation in a Compaq '286 or '386 should be solid, and a downright bargain at these prices. Please call him directly with questions/discussion. I would be happy to forward any mail I get in response, but other than that I won't be adding much value by being in the middle. His name is Casey Murphy, and can be reached at (215) 861-2929 during weekdays. -- Tom Gillispie UUCP: ................rutgers! \ Concurrent Computer Corp. ..princeton! or masscomp!- petsd!pedsga!tom 106 Apple St. ......purdue! or encore! / Tinton Falls NJ 07724 Internet: tom@tinton.ccur.com (201) 758-7329
