I need help with contacting PC-TECHLINE! I've tried to phone them from Sweden, I've set my modem to bell standard 1200 Baud and used 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity with no succes. I've tried to get the files about that VGATEST program which can be ftp'd from Simtel20. I've interrested in obtaining any lists concerning tests of VGA compatible cards. I've used the program myself with little succes in finding a good VGA compatible card, so far only Hewlett Packards, Compaqs cnd GENOA has been up to my standard ie. not any serious hardware/software failures. With GENOA model 5300 and 5400 I've been able to correct their VGA-Bios (change their tables concerning resolution and blanking intervals on the screen) but not the most serious problem that the card locks itself up when interrupt 10h with AX = 1201h and BL = 32h, this function should put the VGA card into an off condition, it does, but then the card is dead, there is no way to wake it up from this except to reset the computer. The Bios version on the card is GENOA 3.01, maybe someone on the Netland has got a newer version of this Bios. If anyone out there has got this I would be very glad if you could read it with an eprom programmer and send me a copy of it, preferrably an ARC'ed file for the PC. It's no use contacting the GENOA agent in Sweden they don't know anything about this, maybe I should mention that the card uses the Tseng Laboratories VGA chip, not the new GENOA VGA chip. The card has revision number A.
