<This is a resubmission of an article I submitted two nights ago wherein I described problems I was having and asked for help. Now, I've solved them (all due to a co-processor jumper being wrong), I'm cancelling the first article and resubmitting this...Sorry for any inconvenience.> Hello: We have the oportunity to aquire several 286 (and 386) clones. We appear to have (from one source) a choice of: - A Suntac motherboard with their own support chipset and Award BIOS - A "Neat" motherboard with Chips & Technologies support chips and AMI (American Megatrends Inc.) BIOS. Actually, we can have either BIOS (or Phoenix BIOS) in either machine. I would be interested in opinions/recommendations/warnings/etc. regarding these two motherboard/chipset's and the 3 BIOS's. Perhaps there are other combinations that are better? Finally, we seem to have a choice of VGA cards as well: Renaissance RVGA1, Tatung/Video7, and Packard Bell/Paradice ... maybe ATI Wondercards as well. I'm new to VGA (herc was always just fine by me). Would anyone have any suggestions/recommendations here? Many thanks as always. -- John Wright ////////////////// Phone: 902-424-3805 or 902-424-6527 Post: c/o Dr Pat Lane, Biology Dept, Dalhousie U, Halifax N.S., CANADA B3H-4H8 Cdn/Eannet:lane@cs.dal.cdn Uucp:lane@dalcs.uucp or {uunet watmath}!dalcs!lane Arpa:lane%dalcs.uucp@uunet.uu.net Internet:lane@cs.dal.ca -- John Wright ////////////////// Phone: 902-424-3805 or 902-424-6527 Post: c/o Dr Pat Lane, Biology Dept, Dalhousie U, Halifax N.S., CANADA B3H-4H8 Cdn/Eannet:lane@cs.dal.cdn Uucp:lane@dalcs.uucp or {uunet watmath}!dalcs!lane Arpa:lane%dalcs.uucp@uunet.uu.net Internet:lane@cs.dal.ca
