I am relatively unskilled with PC's and have a couple of questions. I have a friend who has a business that is based on his PC/XT. He needs to access it from his house. Here are my questions: 1. Can he use a terminal rather that another PC to access his work system? 2. Any recommendation/generalizations on modems or communication software? (Mostly software, please) 3. I understand that there are power bars out that can be hooked up to a modem and will engage when the modem is called (allowing the computer to come up automatically when called). Any experience with this out there? Suggestions/alternatives? 4. Does a remote terminal on a PC act the same as the attached monitor or are there definite differences(not including problems resulting from communications)? Thanks for your help. Please reply via e-mail. If anyone wants a summary, mail me a request (if I get enough requests, I'll post the summary). Thanks again Tom -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Painter cs.utexas.edu!peyote!painter "The trick in life is to die 512-477-9736 painter@peyote.cactus.org young, very late."
