My mail system sometimes bounces mail that I send in response to incoming mail--usually the complaint is "unknown host". I understand that there was a re-structuring a while back, and the situation is better, but not fixed. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to find gateways to route messages? My current dilemma: Dell Ellison responded to my posting to this newsgroup, and I can't reach him. I've tried the following addresses: From his signature: ellison@gtephx From the Message-Id: ellison@gtephx.com From the Return-Path: ames!asuvax.asu.edu!somewhere!ellisond In the last case, asuvax complained about "somewhere". Is it possible to contruct an address from the News-Path? News-Path: gtephx!hrc!zardoz!uci-ics!orion.cf.uci.edu!ucsd!rutgers! apple!ames!lll-winken!lll-lcc!coleman Dell, if you're out there, send me your smail-mail address, and I'll send a floppy. Or call me at (415) 422-4323. If somebody knows dell, could they forward this? It's terribly frustrating not being able to respond to a request. Thanks everyone. Sam Coleman coleman@lll-lcc.llnl.gov
