I have been using a commercially available console device driver, (not supplied with DOS), for over a year now with no problem. I like the speed that it updates the screen, etc. When I installed the new wordstar 5.5 I found they were not compatible. Trying ansi.sys did not help, it cannot handle all the strings I want programmed into function keys. Nansi.sys had a problem, that I cannot recall at the moment, and nnansi.sys is not compatible with a terminal program I must use to access a certain database. So... Can anyone point me to a(some) console device driver(s) that might be tried. -- Ken Thompson N0ITL NCR Corp. 3718 N. Rock Road Wichita,Ks. 67226 (316)636-8783 Ken.Thompson@wichita.ncr.com

As I recall, there is only a limited amount of memory for storing function
key definitions created using the "prompt" command. Using nansi.sys or
increasing the environment space will not solve the problem.
If there is a way to overcome this, I am interested also. Please post.
