[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Info on 386 compatibles wanted...

mms00786@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (06/23/89)

I am in the 386-20MHz market (again!), and would appreciate any and all email
from people who have these compatibles and are happy with it. Specifically, I
have to run Windows/386 in High Res mode, preferably with the paradise 16 VGA
card.

Thanks,
Milan.

I use a Dell 310 and really like it - particularly their service. I
don't quite know if they don't burn in the machines at the factory or
rather they figure that the user can do this and save them the time and
the money. As we have several of these screamers around here, most
have had small bugs during the first 100 hours of operation - one had a
SIMM module go, another a monitor, another a disk drive - all of which
was rapidly and happily replaced by the company. It seems ultimately
compatible with the multitude of software and hardware I use which
includes: Windows 386, dBase IV, QuickC and QuickBASIC, Quattro,
WordPerfect 5.0, Systat, Crosstalk Mk.4, dBase III+, and the Paradise
VGA board.
