I have a Copy II PC Deluxe Option Board in an XT clone, and I just added a 1.2meg controller and drive. With the Option Board out of the circuit I can read and write 360s and 1.2s, but when I put the board between the controller and drive I can only read 360s. The manual made an obscure remark that the option board can't read and write 1.2s, which I had interpreted as meaning I couldn't use the transition copier on 1.2s (which is fine, since I haven't got any copy- protected 1.2s I want to back up...). Looks like it meant the option board just flat blocks reading and writing 1.2s under all circumstances. Has anyone successfully read and written 1.2s with the option board in the circuit? Anyone know a more elegant fix than just leaving the option board disconnected except when I want to back up 360s? I am able to make backups of all my software without a hitch. I do have an AT class machine though. That may be the trouble you are experiencing. I also have a 1.44 3 1/2" drive and can read and write MAC disks on it without any problems also. -- Bill Wilson (Bitnet: ucc2wew@nauvm) Northern AZ Univ Flagstaff, AZ 86011 {Let sleeping dragons lie......}

The CopyII PC Deluxe Option Board works fine with my 1.2 meg drive. I'm using a 386 clone. According to the docs that come with the Option Board you can copy 360K disks but not 1.2meg disks. But when using the drive without the Transcopy software it works just as it should. ...Art
