I have a little problem which I need some help with.
How do you take care of sales tax in different transit districts.
For those of you not in California, the voters for whatever reason
support bills which add 1/2 % to 1 % to the sales tax in a given
area. Usually the given area is bound by county lines. Since our
company provides a custom product to most of california, we are
required to separate the 1/2 % or 1 % from the normal 6 % tax, and
detail where we collected the tax.
My question is : What is the best way to go about putting this
in an accounts receivable program. I have kluged the program
to work under most cases, but this method I have chose is
rather difficult to maintain for both the user and me.
Has anyone else run into this problem ?? Any sugestions will
be helpful. Are there any products which take care of this problem ??
