I have recently heard some stories that Toshiba has quietly made some improvements to the wonderful T1000 laptop computer (PS thanks to all those who recommended it). The supposed improvements are: - more readable display that uses less power - longer battery life due to above - ROM BIOS changes to improve compatibity with IBM PC. I called Toshiba's 800 number and they say they don't know anything about it. I looked at a "new" T1000 at a somewhat sleazy computer store and the display looked exactly the same to me as what I am used to, but I *do* have some DOS programs that don't work on the T1000. Does anyone know if these improvements really exist? If they do, are upgrades (either for the screen or the BIOS) available? Thanks.
