I've written a quick 'n dirty utility to generate "object code deposits" for the U.S. Copyright office. An object code deposit is a printed copy of the first 25 and last 25 pages of a binary, octal, or hexadecimal dump of a program. If you're interested in registering the copyright of a program, this utility might be useful. The utility generates only a hexadecimal dump (since this encodes more of the program). It is written in Turbo C, but the source should be easily portable to other environments. I'll post it to comp.sources.misc if there is sufficient interest. I will not e-mail it since half the e-mails that I send to remote sights get returned! Eric Terrell (att!druhi!terrell)
