I ask this same question myself some time ago and was told to try telix.
I did, and every trace of procomm has been deleted from my system.

Telix handles more protocols (Zmodem is very nice), if you have ega you can
switch to 43 lines (Alt-M to select modes) if you have VGA you can switch
to either 43 or 50 line modes. It is just as easy to use as telix
(maybe easier) and it has more features.

About the only other terminal program to consider is Kermit. I also use
kermit because I am a EMACS user, and telix and procomm can't handle
meta-keys (ALT-whatever). In kermit it doesn't care what size screen
you have, it will keep whatever mode you were in when you started kermit.

With my Orchid Prodesigner I found that Mode 2A is not a graphics mode, it
is text at 40x100 using 8x16 character cells (800x600 res). Very nice
to look at. you can load 8x16,8x15,8x14,8x13,8x12,8x11,8x10,8x9,8x8 font
into the board (in any text mode) and get things like 42x100, 46x100,48x100
, 52x100, 60x100 , 75x100 [pretty tough to read with a 12" moniter]
I need a few more fonts to cover every possibility, but they are around.
If you like big text you can get things like 25x80, 28x80,32x80,35x80 ...

I also edit useing epsilon at home, and you can tell it the number of rows
and columns on your screen and it works perfectly in any of the bizarre
(or mundane) text modes you can get your moniter in.

Lately I have been quit partial to 46x100 (with a 8x13 cell). gives
lots of text on the screen, and it doesn't look squashed like the 50x80 VGA
mode.

Of course I have a batch file that switches me to any mode I want and also
sets up the environment so epsilon knows the right size of the screen.
