Re formatting 360k on a 3.5 inch drive: There is a commercial disk formatting utility called FreeForm from Herne Data Systems Ltd. ($24.95 US, $27.95 CDN) that lets play around with all sorts of disk parameters. It will let you do a single sided disk in a 3.5 inch drive.
