For 10 sectors per track on a DOS system, you should look at the MAXI Disk program produced by Herne Data Systems. It was reviewed in the July 89 issue of Computer Shopper and will give you 420k on a 360k disk, 800k on a 720k 1.4 meg on a 1.2 meg or 1.6 meg on a 1.44 meg. BTW DOS 3.2 or later will support 10 sectors or more per track, but the BIOS on most systems need a little help. miklos g. --- * Via ProDoor 3.01R

fdformat is an EXCELLENT German program that will allow you to format disks in a variety of formats. I use it to put 720K on 5.25 floppies, a very economical format. It includes a program that kicks dumb machines into acceptance of the various formats. fdformat is available on SIMTEL20 and elsewhere. Make sure you can the package that includes fdread2.com (the kicker program). Earl H.
