[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Third party libraries for Clipper?

alanr@tekigm2.MEN.TEK.COM (Alan Rovner) (07/14/89)

I am trying to find out information about the various third party libraries for
Clipper use. I gather that the Tom Rettig one is popular. What kind of functions
does Tom make available? I'm specifically looking for menu and windowing
generators, or an application interface generator.

I guess there are also libraries called SilverComm and IDL Integrated Dev't
Library but don't what features they support.

Thanks in advance for any info,

      Al,

I have been using a third party library from Artful Applications (I
believe they advertise in DBMS), by Arthur Fuller. His book has a subset of
the functions, w/source, and you can buy a smaller portion of the function
library after buying the book. I have found it to be a helluva bargain for
getting some excellent generic functions to quickly prototype an application.

Give it a shot. The book is "The Dynamics of Clipper" by Arthur
Fuller, ISBN # 1-55623-131-8, publisher Dow Jones-Irwin Software Guides.
