I have a PC Brand 286/20MHz with NEC 2A monitor and T-VGA board with up to 1024x768 compatibility. The NEC 2A is capable of 800x600 (SuperVGA). My specific model produces everything up to VGA beautifully, but the 800x600 mode looks a little odd. When the monitor "snaps" into 800x600 mode (sounds like a relay inside for this mode), the screen, resolution and coloration look fine except for one or two large, faint oval circles on the screen. They really are faint and actually resemble isobars on a map. The monitor (and system) are only three months old. The only application I am using the SVGA mode in is when using Ventura Publisher. -- Marcus
