The Hardware: 3 Server 3 IBM PC's, XT's, and AT's - 512k each (total of 13 machines) NEC Silentwriter LC-890 (postcript) The Software: 3 Com 3 Plus network Front end menuing system (in C - written here) Applications (Lotus, WP, etc) The problem : We need a database program, but because of the above noted configurations, we are unable to use Dbase or any of the other mainstrem programs. The Question: Are there any public-domain (or relatively inexspensive) variable-field list management programs available for our system? We need a program that is as user friendly and as close to WYSIWYG as possible. (If anyone is familiar with the Xerox system, we are looking for something similar to that.) The Reply : Please e-mail responses to the address(es) at the bottom and I will post a summarization. If you are unable to mail, posting is okay. Many thanks in advance. internet: darth@brillig.umd.edu Debbie Greenberg uunet : !uunet!brillig!darth Computer Science Dept voice : (301) 454-8114 U of MD, College Park, MD 20742 <Insert your favorite pithy quote and disclaimer here> internet: darth@brillig.umd.edu Debbie Greenberg uunet : !uunet!brillig!darth Computer Science Dept voice : (301) 454-8114 U of MD, College Park, MD 20742 <Insert your favorite pithy quote and disclaimer here>
