[comp.sys.ibm.pc] VGA Textmode fonts

sjm@well.UUCP (Stephen Moehle) (07/22/89)

How can I read the fonts from a VGA board in text mode?
How can I read the eight fonts in bit plane two?
How can I read the five fonts that come with the board?

I want to be able to modify, and store on disk, the character
definitions. Also, I would like to see the fonts currently loaded in
bit plane two (since these might be different than the five standard
fonts.) Any help on any part of these questions would be appreciated.

If it has to be done in graphics mode how is that done? Also, is the
read font info function, bios 1130, only useful in graphics mode?

Please respond by email if possible. I do not have regular access to this
group. Thanks.
