We have a Canon IX-12F scanner connected to a Compaq deskpro 386/25. It works perfectly with Canons text recognition program Read Right. The problem is that we can't get any pictures out of it! Read Right can store pictures, but they're not in any format that Hijaak or any of our other programs can recognize. Q1: Is there any program that can use the scanner to produce standard (TIFF or whatever) picture files, or that can convert Read Right's picture format to them ? Q2: Is there any program that can convert raster format pictures to vector format in any sort of reliable way? Q3: The scanner shouldn't be too hard to program. Where can we get a manual ? The answer "contact Canon Sweden" doesn't work, we've already tried that.
