I've just gotten MS-DOS version 4.01 and would like to modify the COMMAND.COM that comes with it so that the default when starting is echo off instead of echo on. (e.g. must do ECHO ON in a batch file in order to see the execution of its commands.) Can someone tell me what I need to patch in COMMAND.COM to make this change? Still wanting to put in CONFIG.SYS the line: SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM /P /E:300 /ECHO:OFF -- Roger L.
