Hello, world. I have MS-Word 4.0 with an original HP Laserjet. I have been using downloadable fonts for the last year or so via the supplied HPDWNR8P.PRD file and the set of HP purchased fonts. I have now come across a collection of "public domain" HP Laserjet fonts. I want to build my own PRD file to combine my original fonts with the public domain ones. Sounds like MERGEPRD.EXE, right? Well, the problem is that the public domain fonts are a collection with .USP extensions and there is no corresponding .PRD file to use in MERGEPRD. I understand I can run MAKEPRD.EXE and essentially convert my original PRD to Text, manually (ugh) enter the header, font description, CWT, etc. (for the new fonts) and then convert the resulting file back to a PRD. Does anyone know of a utility program to accept a list of font files (like HV140BPN.R8P, UR140BPY.USP, etc.) and then build the custom PRD file? Am I pursuing something way off base? Thanks in advance.... Ed Holdgate AT&T MVW <all necessary disclaimers> att!mvgpl!mveh2
