Well, what is a convenient way to get joystick coordinates? From Turbo Pascal (5), for example. The subject seems undiscussed, in either the technical literature (Byte, PCWeek); trade books on MeSsy-DOS or Turbo Pascal (our preferred environment); or the experimental psych journal, Behavior Research Methods, Instrumentation & Computers, which has otherise helped greatly in areas like millisecond timing. An older Byte has a Turbo source with some inline assembly to countdown until the joystick interrupts. This sort-of works, but doesn't cover the full range of the joystick no matter how long the countdown is, and -worse- has weird discontinuities and non-linearities. Isn't there a BIOS call which could be used more reliably? We use many Zenith XT clones, and many joysticks - Kraft, Mach, etc - involved here. That should be irrelevant. Thanks for any help.
