[comp.sys.ibm.pc] 1. EGA emulation; 2. DOS path names; 3. FidoNet

For a while now, I've tried to resolve three unrelated questions,
unsatisfactorily so far. Any hint will be appreciated.

1. Are there any utilities, PD, SW, or commercial, that simulate EGA
on a Hercules card? CGA simulation is an old hat, but what about
EGA. The resolution is roughly the same, so I figure it would be
mainly a problem of mapping the EGA colors to background, normal,
   and bright (and possibly blinking).

2. How can one put LONG (> 256 characters) path names in an autoexec.bat
file? Is there a continuation character, so that DOS recognizes the
second line is not a new command but a continuation of the command
   starting on a previous line.

3. Where can one get FidoNet node lists, including for foreign countries?
Anyone who has introductory documentation on FidoNet and on its email
system, please send it to me via e-mail.
