I know about the DOS 3.3 call to increase the file limits. I realize that there is a 20 byte table in the DOS 3.x PSP, and a pointer to that table in the PSP also. In one magazine I read, they said that allocating your own file handle table and changing the PSP pointer doesn't work in DOS versions before 3.3... But I thought that I once read that this IS possible. That you CAN increase the maximum number of files per process in earlier versions of DOS, maybe even in versions 2.xx??? HELP! Does anybody know how to do this for DOS versions before 3.3? Has anyone actually done it? Does anybody have a code fragment as an example? Thanks! (And sorry if this has been recently discussed... I just returned from a few months of traveling, so I haven't seen recent discussion topics...)
