[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Wanted: HPGL to EGA graphics driver

kiy@pte.UUCP (Kevin Young) (08/02/89)

Hello all,
I need a driver/conversion program that will take HP-GL plotter commands
(in ASCII) and translate them into EGA screen graphics. Right now it takes
several minutes to see the results of a plot on our 7475A and the results
usually get discarded after a brief viewing. Email please and I'll
summarize. Thanks!

Kevin

Try looking at a program named HiJaak, made by Inset Systems. I got my copy as part of a Wordstar 5.5 upgrade. I haven't had much use for the program so far, but I'm pretty sure it will allow you to view an HPGL file on a screen by converting the HPGL file to what HiJaak calls a .PIX file, which HiJaak knows how to display. The displayed resolution will of course be rather crude compared to that of a 7475 plotter.
