I have a problem with my *REAL* IBM PC. It is the original PC, with the 5 slots, 256K motherboard, and 63 WATT power supply. I am running 5 cards, (CGA, modem, multi I/O, RAM, FXD controller), and one floppy, and a Seagate 238R Harddrive. I recently had a problem with the harddrive, where the boot area went bad, and I had to reformat. And recently, it seems like the system is sluggish, the harddrive seeks by itself for no reason, and it locks up on small errors. My question is, is it the fault of the small power supply? I know the original PC wasn't made to handle a hard drive. The system works fine, just has those couple of quirks every so often. Would it help to put in a 120-150 W power supply, or maybe has the mother board outlived itself, and I should just replace it, and salvage the RAM? Any help would be appreciated. Please reply via E-mail.
