I'm preparing to move my home office from the basement to the attic of our house. While Portland seldom sees days above 100 degrees in the summer, this part of our house (no air conditioning) does tend to get a little warmer than teh main floor (and lots warmer than the basement naturally). I have started wondering how warm my PC can get before it starts to suffer some damage, in particular the media that I will have stored near it. If its god-awful hot, the box simply won't be turned on because I won't be there, but how warm should one let the thing get when it is simply sitting idle? If anyone has any experiences with this sort of thing I'd appreciate hearing about them.
