[net.music] Attentio Classical Musical Listeners - Eat Sh*t and Die

ellis@flairvax.UUCP (Michael Ellis) (04/28/84)

As a person whose first passion was classical (ever make love to to Scriabin,
or the Goldberg Variations?), I feel especially critical towards the limp
wristed classical pansies out there who want a separate newsgroup.

Are your gilden remarks so subtile that they must not be uttered amongst
common mortals? Or do you fear that the Great Clod may step on you should
your ludicrous pomposities be subjected to the Vulgar Lowbrow Sneer?

Or is it that classical listeners suffer under the Great Disgrace that has
plagued the style for centuries, and feel safer hiding in secluded places?

Where are the black classical composers? How many women classical composers
can YOU recall? (there have been so few (Germaine Francaise, anybody?) that
atrocities like `composerette' never occurred!)

Considering the huge amount of sweat that the jewish people have poured into
classical over the centuries, how come it is hard to think of even one jewish
composer? Remember -- Mahler had to renounce Judaism to attain the status he
did!

Is classical separatism on the net symptomatic of the bigotry that has
characterized the style since its inception centuries ago?

This world will probably blow itself up over the elitist forces that appear
to be thriving at classical concerts. Perhaps it is feared that cross
fertilization with other musical awarenesses might add life to the pure
sterility that seems to obsess our life-hating upper classes.

If you people will not converse among the public throng, then please, to munge
Jelloisms, aryan androphiles, fuck off!

WITHOUT producing offspring, that is...

Thank you

I think the classical music people simply would like to see items of
particular interest to them instead of having to thumb through a lot
of articles on non-classical music.

rosul@nmtvax.UUCP (04/30/84)

My my, Mr. Ellis, aren't we getting touchy. Well at least there were no
nasty words in the subject reference this time. You must realize that there
are alot of people out there with very eclectic tastes. For instance, I plan
on subscribing to both net.music, and net.classical. My collection of music
ranges from Devo, to Rush, to Bach. From Tchavosky (And I know I didn't spell
that right), to AC/DC, to Led Zeppelin. SO, don't go around insulting someone
just because they listen to classical or New Wave, or hard rock, or seashells.
You have no right to.

p.s.- Fuck off and die, you shit-for-brained bastard.

That's the word I was looking for. Thanks Mike.

So all you pansy-brained classical types, fuck-off (but please don't
reproduce).

Yo! Ellis, self proclaimed vox populi, though minorities may not be
represented in classical music I could say the same for the computer
industry. I really can't see any relevance to anything in your post.
Why don't you cancel it. And think clearly. You're setting a bad
example for 'thrashers'.
