Has anyone had experience with EZ-DOS yet? This is a (relatively) new MS-
DOS compatible operating system by Digital Research, Inc., being marketed by
2001 Sales (and possibly others?).
Things that make this OS interesting are:
* A standard graphical user interface (GEM),
* Partitions up to 512Mb,
* Speed,
* A standard BASIC pseudo-compiler (TRUEBasic).
I have not had the opportunity to see this OS yet, but I am **very** inter-
ested in the features mentioned above. What I am curious about, however, are
features such as:
* Compatibility with undocumented features (will my PD/shareware library
suffer?)
* Ability to modify config on-the-fly (as EDCONFIG.SYS does, but in a
standard way?)
* The quality of the TRUEBasic package (has it been grafted onto EZ-DOS,
or does it provide good access to the GUI and OS?)
* Are current development tools going to work well in the new environment?
(I am interested both in general and also in specific cases like JPI
Modula-2, the environment I prefer.)
If anyone has had experience with EZ-DOS, please comment on it, either to the
net or directly to me. If this topic has already been discussed, where may
I get some (or all) of the information? If not, and there is interest, I
would be willing to summarize the information and post it to this group.

TRUEBasic is supposed to be fully compatible with the latest ANSI
standard for BASIC. In other words, it is not *remotely* compatible
with GW-BASIC, Microsoft BASIC, Turbo BASIC, or any other PC BASIC.
It may be compatible with some mainframe BASICs however...
