I have just upgraded some Micom NTS100 terminal servers with V3.0 of NTS/TCP. I am now having trouble with remote administration from a PC running PC/TCP. I administer all the terminal servers over the ethernet, from a PC and it always worked in the past. I keep a database of all the terminal server parameters on a PC. I have connected a loopback connector to one of the NTS100 ports and connected to that port over ethernet from the PC. I have monitored the ethernet with an HP analyser. With this setup I would expect everything I type on the PC to be packetised and sent to the terminal server. It would then be looped-back and packetised and returned to the PC. Looking at the packets sent to the NTS100 I can see the correct data edmbeded in them, however, the returned packet contains nothing recognisable as the same data. You can't do remote admin from our IBM mainframe either even though you can with V2.0 NTS/TCP. The remote admin mode only works from another NTS100 or certain UNIX machines. Has anyone any ideas what is wrong and perhaps can suggest a cure. -- Martin C. Holland Internal e/mail: HOLLANDM@PHIRHV1 Philips Research Labs.
