[comp.sys.ibm.pc] OKIDATA Address or m82 info NEEDED

mikef@portia.Stanford.EDU (Michael Fallavollita) (08/04/89)

My parents have an old Okidata Microline 82 that they want to connect to
their PC. The problem is that it feeds an extra line all the time. I know
that there is probably a dip switch that needs to be set for CR/NL mapping
but they got the printer from a friend and got no documentation whatsoever.

Does anyone have one of these that would be willing to send me/my parents a
copy of the major pages? I would also appreciate if someone could send me
their address. My parents will probably request a new manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone is willing to copy the
appropriate pages. My parents mailing address is:
	A & F Fallavollita
	2908 Gold Mine Road
	Brookeville, MD 20833

Thanks in advance,

>From my uL82a manual:

(The following refers to the vertical dip switch just to the right of
the "Line Feed" button on the front panel - you have to remove the
cover to get at this switch.)

The switch is arranged as:

  <-- ON   OFF -->
8
7
6
5
4
3
2
1
       (BOTTOM)

    Switch (X=ON)
1 2 3 4
US ASCII (factory preset) (all off)
    X British
X X German
	X French
X X Swedish
    X X Danish
	    X Dutch
X X X Norwegian
X X Italian
    X X Radio Shack TRS-80

Switch ON OFF

  5 7-bit data 8-bit data

6 Line feed when No line feed when
		CR received CR received

7 Print little box	Ignore DEL
		when DEL is received

8 Low speed serial	Parallel or optional 488 or high

Hope this helps.
