I have a Unisys PW2 850, and am experiencing a rather lengthy delay each time I attempt to access either my 1.2mb or my 1.44mb diskette drive. Although the diskette begins to spin right away, it takes several seconds before any data is actually transferred. I know of at least one other individual with the same machine, and he has noticed the same thing. It seems like a controller problem. Does anyone know if there is some hardware modification (like a jumper setting) that can be made to speed up diskette access?
