I bought a cheap secondhand Miniscribe Hardcard at a recent RSGB (Radio Society of Great Britain) rally. Unfortunately there was no documentation with it. Its got a Western Digital Controller and the disk is a Miniscribe 8450. It was claimed that this was a 40MB device. Can anybody out there in Netland tell me such things as the number of heads/cylinders etc etc as I need to re-format it. It did have two 23MB partions C , D. This struck me as odd so I copied 25MB across from another PC over a LAN onto D:. The result was a trashed disk (C & D) rather than just the disk full error message. I've reformatted it at low level ie g=c800:5 in debug but I had to guess the "ccc h rrr ppp ee o" paramters asked by the Bios Formatter program. It is now 32MB only in one partition & seems OK but that capacity might be due to the guessed parameters. Thanks in Advance......
