(This is sort of related to my last posting requesting help for the hard card config) I happen to also have an Atari PC2 (the XT-clone, small footprint). It's got a SEAGATE ST238R 32MB hard disk with controller (I think its an ST11R, Bios v1.5, WV01 8819 written on PCB). It was bought with this already fitted. Anyway the PSU failed and while I am waiting for the supplier to fix it, I decided to put the hard disk in the same XT-clone as the Miniscribe HardCard. PROBLEM: the two seem to be mutally exculusive. The XT-clone will run OK with either but not both. I re-jumpered the hard-card to be drive D: but nothing. The XT-clone wont boot. Take out the hardcard & its OK (also vice-versa). There is obviously some clash between the two. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS/SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHY? As is usual in good old UK, I cant RTFM because there aren't any. I dont know what support from dealers is like elsewhere in the world but in the UK its abysmal (in my experience). Its not much better from manufacturers.. I rang a well known multi-national company and found that I knew more about one of their main-line software packages than their technical support department...and I spoke to their 'expert'!
