Advice needed. I am looking for a good working combination of scanner and OCR software. The goal is to scan text into the OCR software and output to a laser printer at 300 dpi. The scanning of graphics would be real nice too. If you have experience or suggestions on this combination please let me know. Thanks many, Rick Battle

There is very little for the PC which will do a good job reading proportional fonts. We looked at everything available about a year ago and came up with Scangal and the HP scanner. Their OCR software foes quite a good job on constant width, but is not useful for proportional. -- bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM -or- uunet!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen) "The world is filled with fools.
