I have an RLL hard drive, and have been using it with many utilties, such as compress from PC tools deluxe, and some norton stuff. Now I am upgrading my system (depending on the response to this post) to an ESDI hard drive and controller. I have a Miniscribe 3180E w/ Western Digital ESDI controller on my pc and run PC tools and Norton Utilities (4.5 Advanced) with no problem. I haven't used the pc tools compress routine but I see no reason why it should be special. Just 1 data point, Ken Snyder
