On behalf of a friend, I'm wondering about a problem he's having with MS Word (both 4.0 and 5.0). He's trying to print over PC Network to an HP Laserjet. His attributes don't make it (font, bold, italic, etc.). What he gets out is just Courier. The printer has the TMS proportional 1 cartridge in it. His Word printer driver is HPLASRRMN.PRD. Anybody else run into this bag of weirdnesses? (Best argument for a Postscript printer I ever heard!) Anyway, please send email or post as appropriate for you if you can help. ==Jess Anderson===Academic Computing Center=====Univ. The only difference is that I use the printer driver written specifically for that cartridge only. This driver is HPLASPS.PRD. Although the driver supports ONLY the B cart, you could obviously merge it with another driver.... See if this works., as I've had no problems. At work, we have an XT with an HP LJII, Font Cartridge B in right-hand slot. I work with driver HPLASPS at home, print to disk (stuff including Helvetica, Times Roman, and Times Roman Italic), take the disk to work and print the file on the LaserJet. Result? Courier. Any ideas? This is Word 4.0 Acad. Scott -- Scott "The Pseudo-Hacker" Neugroschl abcscnge@csuna.csun.edu -- Beat me, Whip me, make me code in Ada -- Disclaimers? You need to either download the fonts yourself just before printing the file, or use a print re-directer like PRN2FILE to capture the fonts as well as the document. -------------------------------------------------------- Gary Harrington Gary.Harrington@Wichita.NCR.COM NCR Corporation Wichita, Kansas
