I have a Toshiba 1200 F (two floppies) without a backlit screen. I got this configuration mainly so as to have the maximum battery life possible. However, I am missing the harddisk of my desktop and am wondering: 1. What is the real world (as oppossed to "official") life of the battery with a harddisk and no backlighting? 2. Aside from Toshiba's harddisk, what other, possibly lower power options are there that you have heard about or had experience with? (I already have the list of 3rd party suppliers off the Toshiba BBS) 3. Has anyone had experience with any of the external harddisks that are available for laptops, including using a SCSI adapter in the Toshiba, or any other options? Thanks. Please respond via mail, as I am too busy to read this group as often as I would like. If there is enough response I will post a summary. Mark Ritchie markxx@garnet.Berkeley.EDU
