[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Direct floppy disk access

TRM900@PSUVM.BITNET (Tony R. Marasco) (08/31/89)

I am looking for any information on accessing the IBM PC floppy disk
directly. By directly I mean pointing the head to specific track & side
and writing/reading information BYPASSING DOS. I know this task is
possible on my Model IV using the OUT and INP commands. I am not
extremely familiar with PC Assembler, but I believe OUT/INP exist in
Basic and Turbo PASCAL.

I hope I expressed myself clearly. Any help/comments are greatly
appreciated. Also, since I rarely read this group, e-mail would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
