I would like some opinions about ESDI controllers. My Dell 310 came with a WD 1007 something ESDI controller. However, the Priam 150 Meg I purchased separately came with a DTC ESDI controller. I am currently using the DTC in my computer, and it works quite well. I am curious, however, about whether the WD would work better. I talked to a tech at Priam, who said the WD would work OK with the Priam disk, but I would have to do low and high level formats. Does anyone have any opinions/comments about the relative merits of these controllers? I might bite the bullet and try the WD, just to make sure it works OK. Also, what software can I get to test performance of an ESDI disk? Any comments are definitely appreciated. Thanks.
