Right! This is why I bought a tape drive for my 30 MB XT clone.

For US$179 you can get the Everex 1/2 height internal 40MB tape drive with
"QTAPE" backup/restore software. Then for another $99 you can get a
"universal" 4-way floppy/tape controller if, like me, you wish to keep your
two floppy drives. Then you pay about $20 for each DC2000 tape cartridge.
(I have two of these and switch between them.)

Thus, for a total expenditure of only about $320 plus tax, you get the
convenience of being able to pop in a tape, tell it to back up your entire
hard disk, and go away for an hour or so. No more floppies!

The QTAPE program allows you to make full backups, incremental backups, or
to specify manually which files to back up. If you have not completely
filled your <= 40MB disk, one tape can typically hold a full dump plus
several incremental dumps.

My one gripe with this product is that there seems to be no way to access
the tape drive as a lettered pseudo-disk (e.g., "D:"); only the QTAPE
program seems to be able to access the tape. It's also mind-bogglingly
slow, but I usually do my backups while I'm sleeping, so that doesn't
matter much.
