(I don't think this got out last week; anyway I've tried a few more things since then.) THE PROBLEM: how do I read random sectors on a 720K 5.25-inch disk on an AT? (That's 80 tracks but normal density: 8 sectors/track.) I've tried: INT 13h function 17h (set disk type) AL = <various small numbers: I've tried 0-4> DL = drive number and it appears to have no effect: I get a "can't find address mark" error, apparently indicating that it's not seeking to the right track. By the way, track 0 on these disks not only doesn't have the usual boot sector information on it, it's not readable at all because it's single density (blame Intel).
