Does anyone know whether we can have the capability of hooking up (say) 2 monitors to a PC (XT/AT), in a manner similar to the capabilities of a Macintosh II or IIx ? ie. you would have 2 video cards in the main machine and 2 monitors hooked up but have one controlling device (mouse) to move things around from one monitor to another. In effect, we would have double the graphical space with one input device. Any light shed on this issue shall be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

You can have two display cards in a PC/XT/AT/etc if they are one of the following pairs: MDA,CGA MDA,Hercules InColor MDA,EGA MDA,VGA Hercules, CGA Hercules, Hercules InColor Hercules, EGA Hercules, VGA CGA,EGA *mono* CGA,VGA (at least *my* VGA card will do this!) You can only use the fist Graphics page on a Hercules card in a dual monitor setup unless the other card is a Hercules InColor card or a Hercules VGA card... -- Leonard Erickson ...!tektronix!reed!percival!bucket!leonard CIS: [70465,203] "I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools.
