Well, I finally got my TRS-80 Model VI Printer to print normally when connected to my PC! I thought many of you would be interested to see how I managed. Here's how... I was informed by several that the dip switches were the key to the whole thing, and they needed to be moved. Right behind the Centronics jack on the printer circuit board is a small arrangement of 4 DIP switches. I had to remove the printer's protective enclosure, move #2 and #4 to the OFF position, and that was it. My diagram shows the printer layout and where the switches are: FRONT | __ __ __ BEFORE -------------------------------------------- __________________ | | | OPEN | | | | [*] [*] [ ] [*] | | | | [ ] [ ] [*] [ ] | | DIPS | |___1___2___3___4__| | ______ | | {_||||_} | AFTER | | __________________ ----------======---------------------------- | OPEN | |||||| BACK | [*] [ ] [ ] [ ] | |||| | [ ] [*] [*] [*] | ||||Centronics |___1___2___3___4__| |||| Cable |||| ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To all who gave me the advice and information, Thanks for all the help! I do appreciate it !!! Take it easy, fly low, and avoid the radar.
