A couple months ago I helped a friend install a new hard disk in an original IBM PC (with plenty of help from the net). We ran into a minor problem then, but it's come up again. So I ask for more help... DOS sees the hard disk as the D: drive. This is really odd, since when FDISK runs it correctly identifies the disk as C: (so do some other diagnostic problems that we ran). Any ideas what's happening to us here? One more thing, when we run FORMAT on the new disk (it insists on calling it D: too) we get the error "Invalid data in partition table". ------- Tom Davis | The above statement shall be construed, Network Software Services | interpreted, and governed by me alone.
